Other Teams

The Nano Stormers competed in the British Columbia First Lego League tournament on Nov. 25.  Here are some things we liked about the other teams and their robots.

  • Strategy for robot runs
  • Alignment was predictable or not important
  • Long sleeved shirts would be warmer
  • Robot crawling over the bone
  • Long or tall attachments were faster than driving the robot around.
  • Displays used two tri-panel boards
  • Team pins to hand out to other teams.
  • Fast robots seemed to score higher than slow robots
  • Robots using tracks were slower than robots with wheels
  • Programs use branch logic or loops, not just sequential.
  • Use sensors to increase accuracy
  • Have all references listed on one page

Sorry but I got to object to the line "Robots using tracks were slower than robots with wheels" it may have been true that at the tournament all robots with tracks happend to be slow, but the line "Robots using tracks were slower than robots with wheels" makes it sound as if it was impossible to have a robot using tracks and still be fast.
The speed depends on the gearing instead of wheels or tracks.
So could that line be deleted?

That's a good point. The comment described the robots we saw at the tournament.

It doesn't mean that all robots with tracks must be slow. Just that the robots at the tournament with tracks were slower than the robots at the tournament with wheels.
